![]() ![]() In a similar vein there's Etrian Odyssey: beautiful worlds, hard, interesting but minimalistic story.Īnd of course there's always Catherine, which was first promoted in Persona 2. Incredibly hard and rewarding, creepy atmosphere with the minimalistic feel of Nocturne, interesting monster designs. If you want something that's vaguely like SMT except for monster-catching, there's Demons Souls and Dark Souls. I think there are two good choices though: Folklore (Ps3) has one of the best atmospheres of any game I've ever played. There aren't that many games that combine dark stories, religious themes, brutally hard gameplay and monster-catching mechanisms. In terms of other games that are like SMT, it's going to be a bit hard to find one. There's also an MMO, but I heard it wasn't overly popular. With each of those being dense, rich games that take a while to complete, that can set you up for an SMT fix for a while. ![]() Then there's spinoffs: Devil Summoner (1 & 2), Digital Devil Saga (1 & 2), Devil Survivor (1, 2 is not out yet), and the Persona series. There's the "core" SMT games (Nocturne, Strange Journey, etc). First off, which SMT? It's a huge franchise, so of course you have all of those to play through. ![]()
